A Ministry to the Homeless, Helpless and Hurting
Home & Garden Show 2017
The Tallahassee Builder’s Association is hosting the first Home & Garden Show at the Centre Pavilion in Tallahassee on September 30-October 1, 2017. All the details for attending as a guest, getting a booth, or a sponsorship, for the event is found here: http://tallyba.com/home-garden-show/.
In addition to being a part of a great show/vendor opportunity for your business, every dollar above expenses is being given to the Builder’s Care program of the Builder’s Association, and the Good Samaritan Network.
Good Samaritan Network, Inc. has a vision to build bridges between people and the Lord. We do this by offering basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing but it goes much deeper. Program participants and guests are offered friendship and opportunities for personal as well as spiritual growth. This is accomplished through various outreach ministries and job- readiness programs.
How We Started
While serving at Tallahassee’s Haven of Rest Rescue Mission from 1999-2009, Glenn and Beth Burns felt compelled to do more. The rescue mission was not able to provide shelter for women and children, and the need for these most vulnerable members of our community was evident. The Burns, who had raised a number of orphaned children, began meeting those needs by opening their personal home to women and families in crisis. They also encouraged others in the community to do the same.
To Rescue, Redeem, Rebuild, Restore, and Resend the hopeless, homeless, hurting, unused, and underused in the spirit of the good Samaritan as depicted in Luke 10.
