Good Samaritan Network Board of Directors
Terri Alexander, GSN Board Vice-President
A Registered Nurse, Terri is certified in Inpatient Obstetrics and works at Capital Regional Medical Center in Labor & Delivery. She and her husband Don attend Immanual Baptist Church. At age 18 Terri was born again but slipped into sin when in college and became an unwed mother at 22. God used the circumstances of her pregnancy and single motherhood to bring her back to Himself. Terri helps with Friday “tea parties” and fundraising projects. She states that, “God has blessed me and now I want to be one of those people who helps women who are in similar circumstances like I was in. I want to get in the “trenches” and really help these women. I want to be a ‘doer of the word’.”
Stuart "Brewser" Brown, Board Member
Brewser is self-employed as a government relations consultant. Previously he served as an aid to Governor Jeb Bush and Lt. Governor Frank Brogan. He serves as an advisory board member for the Lastinger Center for Learning at the University of Florida’s College of Education. Brewser and his wife Sara have two children, a 3 year old boy and a 6 year old girl and is an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the Board of Trustees of Holy Comforter Episcopal School. He previously served as a board member for Big Bend Habitat for Humanity. Brewser’s contribution to GSN is invaluable as he advises and helps in the area of fundraising.
When asked why he became involved in GSN, Brewser states, “I was fortunate to meet Glenn Burns many years ago during his early days with the Haven of Rest Rescue Mission. Glenn told me that one day they hoped to have a ministry focused on helping women and I knew that I wanted to be a part of that.”

Beth Burns, GSN Executive Director and Board President
Formerly an elementary school teacher with office management and hospital social services background, Beth accrued skills which enabled her to develop outreach programs for needy and hurting people. Beth and her husband, Glenn, have six children (adopted) and four grandchildren. Though Beth was raised in the church since she was a small child, as a teenager she realized her need to know the security of her salvation. She testifies, “It’s been a life-long journey of discovering who I am in Christ and living up to my potential to serve Him in different capacities ... I have always been drawn to help needy and hurting women and children. I am both humbled and honored to partake in this incredible opportunity to be a "Good Samaritan". Glenn and Beth are members of Faith Baptist Church, Tallahassee. Beth is GSN Executive Director.
Glenn Burns, Board Chaplain and co-Founder
In 1999 Glenn left his 31-years in business development, during which he introduced and set up new mortgage programs with credit unions throughout the state of Florida. That year Glenn was commissioned to close (due to lack of support) the Haven of Rest Rescue Mission, Tallahassee. Instead, Glenn oversaw the growth of the Haven from around 20 men to a daily average of around 120 during his 11 years as Director of the Haven of Rest. He also has served on pastoral staff at two local churches with duties ranging from overseeing the benevolence fund, nursing home outreach, missions and evangelism program. He has served as Director of Evangelism for North Florida Baptist Association. In 2005, Glenn opened Frenchtown Chapel and Community Center, an inner-city ministry in Tallahassee, Florida. Glenn is the volunteer chaplain for the Frenchtown Neighborhood Association. Currently, Glenn serves as Director of CARE Tallahassee, a Christian Home for Men.
Saved late in life at age 35 while riding down a freeway in Los Angeles, California, Glenn states, “I have been blessed by a growing and intimate relationship with the Lord since 1986 and seek to share the love of Jesus with as many people as I can the rest of my life.”
Glenn’s invaluable support to the GSN provides a plethora of experience and knowledge in the rescue mission ministry as well as spiritual support and guidance to GSN staff.
